South Caucasus III Youth Festival “Caucasus Wave for Future”

South Caucasus III Youth Festival “Caucasus Wave for Future” organized within the framework of the EU/UNFPA co-funded project Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in the South Caucasus“(RHIYC) was held in Batumi Georgia, on September 12-13, 2009.

The initiative aimed at uniting society and youth to promote healthy lifestyle among people and to raise their awareness about their sexual and reproductive health and rights issues.

A two day festival included various sports and outreach activities in which young people from all three countries of South Caucasus actively participated.

Youth reproductive health is one of the most essential topics on the UNFPA agenda to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The MDGs, with particular emphasis on a Health and Reproductive Health issues can not be achieved without investing in youth. Addressing the S&RH needs of young people is crucial to build healthy society and future.
